The Big Secret About Getting Traffic

I can only imagine if I were to ask John Reese what is the big secret for getting traffic he might have more than just one, obviously. That isn’t the point, I would press him for just that one solid tidbit of information to put into action.

Wouldn’t you?

I have learned many valuable lessons about building traffic that never stops coming into a website. The one that is most valuable to me is…

…when all else fails, write new content for your blogs, sites and article submission. nothing works like fresh content for driving visitors to you sites and landing pages.

My one secret for ‘getting eyes’ on my sites, when I have hit a roadblock with other marketing efforts,  is to write and publish content.

Rather than just mindlessly surf, I write.

And that alone produces quality, original information for my business that would otherwise never get written. Since information is what people are searching for online it only makes sense to provide that information.

Not exactly the big secret to getting traffic but it works. The trick is to be determined enough get something done rather than waste your time.

Writing accomplishes that goal every time. My advice…just write when you have no idea what to do next.

Here’s Why Article Marketing Is Still One Of The Best Ways For Website Traffic Generation

By now you probably know that article marketing is one of the best methods for traffic generation. Of course, it is also one of the most effective free methods for building long term traffic.

Another benefit from submitting articles are the incoming backlinks you gain for your website. This benefit in turn gives your site more relevance in the search engines. The result is another benefit…higher rankings in the SE’s.

It gets better though, if you take the time to write quality articles you stand a good chance of other webmasters publishing your material on their websites and RSS feeds. This means more backlinks, it gets better, these links are coming into your site from sites of like-minded content. That is relevance Google, and others, love!

This all adds up to higher and higher search engine ranking. Exciting stuff right?

I’m willing to wager you are also aware of the time consuming nature of article writing. Sure some marketers hype up the need to write fast, some claim they can write 3 or 4 articles an hour, maybe they can. But it takes another hour to submit those articles to several directories.

After all, 1 article in 1 directory is good…put that same article in 10 directories and you are getting some where. It takes time, lots of time and who has all of that time available? Particularly when you need to be putting your efforts into many tasks with your business.

As you publish more material(and your links) around the Internet great things begin to happen. Traffic begins to flow into your pages. Targeted visitors coming, you can never stop I’ll add, that have read something you wrote…they want more.

Getting directly to the point, good content is the answer for you when seeking how to get free autopilot traffic to all your blogs and websites. It takes a commitment on your part to provide that quality too.

I can promise you this…if you can commit to writing just 1 article each day about your niche, you will be miles ahead of your competition. If you don’t, you can bet some one else will.

While being an affiliate for other online marketers is probably the easiest business anyone can start online, it is also the easiest to fail at, beginning from the very first day.

And these are the top 5 mistakes that can kill your affiliate marketing:

Mistake #1)  Not Building A List

With all of the tools made available today, list building can be done quite inexpensively. In fact, I’m certain anyone who sets their mind to building a list will earn back far more than they spend building their list.

All one really needs is an autoresponder service (recommended vs. in-house software) to get started. Services can be found online starting as low as $20 a month. Just 1 affiliate sale monthly can cover the expense.

It really is foolish not to be building your list from day one.

Mistake #2)  Poor Choice Of Affiliate Programs

Wow, how do you even know a good program from a bad program? Certainly it is kind of by trial and error, right?

Not at all.

There are two options with affiliate programs. The first is working with stand alone affiliate programs. The second is choosing to work with larger affiliate marketplaces such as Clickbank(TM), Commission Junction(TM) and PayDotCom(TM).

I recommend new affiliates start with the big operations. If for no other reason than being confident you will receive commission checks. Nothing worse than working with a scam artist marketer who allows you to market their product as an affiliate but then runs off with your hard earned money.

A company like Clickbank(TM) is a 3rd party affiliate system provider. All funds go through them, and they send out payments to both affiliates and product owners. They provide the service and collect a fee as a result. it is a win/win/win situation all around.

Mistake #3)  Putting Up Too many Or Too Few Ads

Affiliate marketers all too often place too much on their websites in the form of offers and links. This confuses the visitor and they leave the site doing nothing.

While the opposite, too few ads, isn’t as frequent, affiliates have been known to not put any offer on their site. What is the point of having a visitor on your site if they do not have some action you want them to take. This is a complete waste of traffic.

Mistake #4)  Paying Too Much For PPC Ads

Not only is this costly, and a potential business killer, it is certainly easy to do. Most make the mistake here of believing ‘more is better’ when bidding on keywords. They fail to test click throughs and conversions then wonder why they are not making any money.

Taking time to learn how to properly ‘test and track’ your ads is not only smart, it is really a money maker…every time. Because doing so will quickly reveal the ad losers making it easier to identify winners to roll out further.

Mistake #5)  Poor Quality Traffic

Using the wrong keywords is the first way to send poor traffic to your site. And until you figure out the keywords are wrong you can easily be testing your sales copy on the wrong audience.

Always take time to be sure you are reaching the correct information seekers with your keywords in SEO and PPC ads. Some of your better affiliate programs will give you a good start by providing keywords. You can use these to start a few promotions however, I recommend using them to search out even more targeted keywords.
